I've been a Reiki therapist, teacher and spiritual mentor/coach for over 25 years. I'm also a practicing Kriya Yogi (a kundalini/tantra practice), and, a yoga and meditation teacher (Babaji's Kriya Yoga). More recently my practice has morphed to include the gift of trance spiritual healing which can be rather profound. The combination of these paths has literally transformed my life and I am honoured to be part of people's healing on the physical, emotional and spiritual levels. One of the most profound experiences I've had of these combined paths was conducting a Reiki initiation in the cave where Satya Sai Baba attained his enlightenment. This was deep in the jungle and beside the Ganges River, India and the adjoining ashram.
Many people are curious about my unusual background so I provide it here, not to make a point of any sort but only because clients and students understandably seem to need it for their own confirmation of whom they are studying or healing with. I have had a very full career in communications that encompasses the corporate world (up to and including vice president), being a highly decorated military officer, a guy who worked his way through university by loading transport trucks, and someone who has run his own consulting business. I have a BA in Psychology and an MA in crisis management and communicating with populations at risk. I have spent a considerable part of my career coaching and mentoring people along with counselling.
All of that to say that because of my diverse background I readily relate to people from all walks of life and all income levels.
My Philosophy:
"When the student is ready the teacher appears and,
when the teacher is ready the student appears."
My background is in the Usui Reiki Ryoho tradition which is a laying-on-of-hands based lineage in which there are three levels of training, with each level providing deeper knowledge, experience and skills. You will be deeply supported during all of our interactions, whether for training and development or healing sessions.. Given the deep work we do my approach is not for everyone. My practice is not a "business" and I do not encourage "followers.". All teachers have their own wisdom and while we may differ in our approach all are respected for what they bring.
There are now many different schools of Reiki training from the original approach of its founder, Mikao Usui, in the 1920s. Each has its own approach and understanding and represents the perspective of the person who developed it. I have no opinion on the various approaches as my belief is that you are always drawn to the right teacher at the right time. This also means that you may study with more than one teacher as your journey unfolds.
